the big move

As the next new, major chapter in my life begins, I find it time to change it up a little bit and leave growing up and move to "a dose of my own medicine". I hope you will continue to follow me on my journey as I transition into my new role as an R.N. See you soon!

Wordless Wednesday {the celebration}

i'm giving away one of my secrets of blogging, but sometimes i make my wordless wednesday posts on tuesday and schedule them for wednesday morning so i don't have to try and remember. i did that today too, which is really tuesday, but you are reading this on wednesday. today i purposely posted after i knew i would be done with my test so that this post would be true. :) enjoy it. i don't know how i did yet, but i am doing this right now....

today & tonight & tomorrow

today.
i did some last minute questions in preparation for the biggest test of my life. (tomorrow).
my boyfriend ate sushi for dinner. for the first time. and ended dinner saying "i love sushi."
i had a meltdown.
tears. lots of tears. words that lacked pronunciation and/or meaning, and more tears. lucky for me, aforementioned boyfriend happens to be wonderful and calmed me down. his words of encouragement about aforementioned biggest test of my life (tomorrow) and his faith in me to do well, his love and pride in me helped. a lot. he is a sweetheart who i am so very blessed to call my own.
massage. it was decent at best. anytime you are getting naked, the room should really be warm and the ac shouldn't be on. otherwise i'd say it was pretty good.
tonight.
i'm planning on a hot bubble bath with new bubbles to calm down in preparation for the biggest test of my life. (tomorrow)
i will drink a glass of wine, go to bed relaxed and ready for tomorrow.
tomorrow.
biggest test of my life. nuff said.

The Best News Ever!

Yes fans. I have some great, amazing, exciting, jump-out-of-your-seat, fantastic news.

I got a job as a pediatrics nurse at the children's hospital!!!!!!

Seriously this news came at an amazing time, and it is certainly an amazing opportunity for me. I really can't even believe how it all happened, but I am so very, very thankful that it did! So I take boards next Wednesday and then will start the following week. I could not be any more excited about this new job, it is truly what I have always felt I should be doing in the field of nursing. I loved my preceptorship and I felt the whole time that working with children is what I should do. Now I get to, and I am so happy!

I have been studying like crazy the past few weeks and I am very eager to get this test done with and out of the way. It has taken a lot of discipline studying when it has been so nice, and I feel like I have done a good job at staying on top of it and not letting the gorgeous weather put me into a sun-induced coma.

I just got a package of sweets and study snacks from Ben's brother and his family to help me through the next week. How sweet :) I think it will definitely help out the next few days when the stress begins to set in. Also who doesn't love Swedish fish, pretzel m & m's and coffee?? Enjoy your week everyone!

Happy Mother's Day!

I have to say that I have been very blessed in the mother department. I have my own wonderful mommy who birthed me, raised me, punished me, loved me, taught me right from wrong, tested me, allowed me to test her, supported me, and believed in me, among about 1000 other wonderful things.

I also have been a wonderful step-monster mother Raine who has been such a great woman to know and learn from as well.

Other wonderful mother's include Kelsey's mom Kerri who since my freshman year at Iowa State has really pulled me under her wing and treated me like one of her own while I was away from my own mommy. She has been such a great mom to me the past 6 years, and I am so thankful for the friendship I have with Kelsey and the relationship I have gotten to have with her mama.

I think being so far away from my own mama makes it a little harder being around everyone else who gets to have theirs all the time. All the mothers that are in my life are wonderful and I feel like I learn a little from each of you with every encounter. Love you all mothers and hope you have a very special day :)

Not Quite Chilaquiles

If you have ever had Chilaquiles, then you know how good they are. If you haven't had them, well you should so you can know how the real ones taste. This morning I sort of threw some stuff together and made a sort of chilaquiles breakfast.

1 white corn tortilla, cut up into strips
1 green onion diced
1egg
cooking spray
salt and pepper
cholulua hot sauce

Saute tortilla strips and green onion till both are soft.
Cook egg, I choose over medium so I have a slow ooze with fully cooked whites :)
Put the egg over the tortilla and green onions, top with s&p and hot sauce and enjoy.

So easy and really good. Also a really good use of my extra ingredients I had laying around. So try it tomorrow, I might again :)
